Cameron Hickey
Cameron Hickey is a documentary filmmaker and technology expert based in New York City. In addition to being a founder of the DocAgora association, Hickey has produced and directed several documentary films through his production company Pattern Films -- including the award winning Garlic and Watermelons, as well as multiple films for Al Jazeera International, the BBC, and Channel 4. His photography has been featured in ESPN magazine, Cond Nast Traveler, BBC News, and DOX magazine. Hickey is currently developing a new documentary film in collaboration with Tigerlily Films in the UK, and is hard at work investigating new tools and approaches to documentary content development and distribution. The center of this research is the DocAgora WebPlex, a web-based resource database for docmedia information developed in partnership with the Documentary Organization of Canada, the Ontario Media Development Corporation, and The Center for Social Media at American University. In addition to developing films and websites, Hickey is a consultant on new media strategy for filmmakers and internet businesses. |
