Caspar Sonnen

Caspar Sonnen (Amsterdam, 1975) started working as a film programmer, journalist and festival organizer while studying film and new media at the University Utrecht. In 2005 he started working for IDFA, where he set up the New Media department and IDFA TV. In order to better present emerging documentary formats outside the realm of linear filmmaking, Sonnen started the festival program Doc Lab at IDFA in 2007.

Currently, Sonnen is curating a new edition of Doc Lab, centred around the theme of live documentary. Besides his work at IDFA, Sonnen is co-founder and program director of Seize the Night, the annual Open Air Film Festival Amsterdam.
